If you are anything like me, you probably keep forgetting various passwords for various websites. Yes, Google Chrome, just like most other web browsers, remembers passwords for you, but what if you’ve forgotten the password and need to enter it on another site? Following is a little trick that you can use to display the text of a password field.
The problem, shown above: Google Chrome has remembered the password, and has, very helpfully, put it into the password field for you, but you need to READ that password.
Right click on the password field, and select Inspect Element from the context menu.
After clicking Inspect Element, a window will open at the bottom of the page, and the HTML of the password field will be highlighted.
Right click on the highlighted text, and select Edit as HTML from the context menu.
Change the type attribute of the password field from password to text.
